Stuarts regularly advises clients on a broad range of commercial disputes, including claims arising out of contracts, professional negligence, and attorneys’ duties in the Cayman Islands. 

The majority of the Stuarts Litigation and Dispute Resolution department's work involves a cross-border element. We have particular expertise in advising on issues of jurisdiction and choice of law.

Stuarts litigation attorneys advise on all aspects of litigation proceedings from pre-action through to trial. At the same time, we are focused on achieving cost-effective and practical solutions to disputes.  

In addition, Insolvency-related disputes are at the heart of the Stuarts    Litigation and Dispute Resolution  department’s work.

We regularly advise clients in an insolvency context and on their associated duties to both creditors and shareholders.

We are also very experienced in advising clients threatened with insolvency proceedings and in seeking injunctive relief to prevent Winding-Up proceedings.

Stuarts also has extensive experience in advising on claims for fraud and dishonesty, particularly in the context of their advice on directors’ duties.

We offer strong strategic advice at all stages of litigation, including in relation to the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), including mediation.
